PERRY'S OBITUARY

Perry “Poppa” Pippenger, 56 of Avinger, Texas passed away on January 8, 2022.

Perry was born on April 18, 1965 in Newport, Arkansas.  He lived in Mooringsport, Louisiana most of his life and lived in Avinger, TX for the past 8 years.  He had a passion for fishing that drove him into a crappie jig business; he loved being on the lake and he loved getting kids started in fishing and donated to organizations that helped young people learn to fish.  He enjoyed gardening, and loved to cook and feed people, no one ever left his home hungry.  He worked hard and could always figure out a way to fix something.  It was said about him that he was “old school” and he had an “old soul” and he believed in hard work and doing things right.  He loved his family very much.

Perry is preceded in death by his mother, Alma Keller, father, John Keller, son, Caleb Pippenger and daughter-in-law, Tiffany Pippenger.  He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandy Pippenger of Avinger, TX, one son, Corey Pippenger of Bossier City, LA and two grandchildren, Keian Pippenger and McKinley Pippenger.
